What is the Best Brand of Washing Machine?
When looking for a new washing machine, the first thing you will ask is "what is the best brand of washing machine?" Today, there is a plethora of washing machine brands that are available in the market. Choosing the best one might seem like a colossal job. It is like finding a needle in a stack of hay.
There are a lot of good brands out there. LG, Samsung, Haier and Maytag are some of the household names in the US. Miele washers are more popular in the UK. Other brands like Kenmore, GE and Whirlpool closely follow in popularity.
If your definition of the best brand of washer is a washer brand that always delivers quality products in its best and most durable state, you are going to be disappointed. All these brands, no matter how good they all are, also fail in some terms. There are going to be customers that are bound to experience faults and failures in these washers.
A vigilant consumer does not look for brand name alone, though this is a good starting point. If you are to concentrate on one brand for starters, you should look for a brand with a good and solid track record. That is to say, they have been in this industry for quite some time now and they have generally pleasant reviews. Some of the washer brands that are deemed the best by general reviews are LG, Samsung, Maytag and Miele.
LG and Samsung are two Korean brands that have penetrated the US market. They are better known for their forward and cutting-edge technology. The latest washers of LG offers direct drive motor technology. This technology solves the problem of washer break downs. When a washer with direct drive motor spins, fewer parts are moving. Because of this, it does not wear out easily. In comparison to other models, the spin cycle might cause other parts to come loose and to deteriorate quickly. This is why LG washers are usually considered some of the most durable washers.
For quite washing techniques, Samsung also produces the best. With its new Vibration reduction technology, you can wash clothes loaded unevenly, without the noise and vibration problems.
Maytag's top load washers are considered the best. Not only is its capacity quite big for a large family but these washers can rival the efficiency of its front loading counterparts. Miele is the most popular brand of washer in the UK mainly because it gives its users less problems. It does not easily break and does a great laundry cleaning job.
The brand of washer you are going to choose will depend on your clothes washing needs. So, be more aware of the good brands out there and find out which one can solve your washer needs.

The Deal Is In The Details
Not long ago, I was showing clients a premium townhome property-the shell alone was selling for million-when I heard the developer's broker say something that I knew wasn't right.
She told the clients they would need only a quarter of a million dollars to finish the raw space. "Wait a second," I said, "the kitchen alone, depending on your tastes, might run ,000 to 5,000." I knew the clients would not be satisfied with low-end appliances and finishes, and neither would the market when it came time for resale.
Understanding pricing and finishes is essential in the rarefied realm of high-end luxury properties, where the number of details involved-and their importance for buyers-increases as the sales price rises. To ensure your best deal, find an experienced Realtor who knows the specialized components of upper tier real estate. Your real estate agent should gather and present to you as much information as possible to protect you in the transaction.
Start With the Client's Needs
So I can understand what my clients are looking for, my first step is to work with them to develop their needs analysis -- cover everything from the minimum square footage for their home to whether or not they want a private rooftop garden. In addition, the Realtor should find out what special amenities a buyer desires in a luxury building based on the person's lifestyle and personality. Using the results of the needs analysis, I can locate appropriate properties in the locations the client prefers.
The Cachet of Luxury Brands
Luxury design brands have become a driving trend for high-end properties. Buyers appreciate the name recognition of Ritz Carlton, Trump or Mandarin Oriental - and of well-known architects like Santiago Calatrava, Lucien Lagrange and Helmut Jahn. These prestige names also make properties more attractive for resale.
The Flow of Floor Plans
The desirability of cachet brands has a flipside to keep in mind: just because a building is designed by a big name architect doesn't mean its floor plans are livable. The floor plan must make sense for your family and your daily needs. Be careful about how the property lays out, the flow of the design. Imagine yourself moving through the rooms. If something feels awkward, it will become an issue later.
Floor plans provided to potential buyers typically don't give true room sizes. Because the measurements are taken from within the walls, dimensions can be off by as much as six inches on either side.
Start with Building Amenities
Our Chicago skyline is graced with many examples of work by Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe. The famous German master's adage, "God is in the details" reflects the thoroughness you should expect from your Realtor when buying a luxury home.
Among the most important details to consider are the amenities that you desire in a luxury building, based on your lifestyle and personality. Take concierge service, for example. What does it really entail and what is the level of service? Is it available around the clock? Your agent should look into these details for you so you know how a concierge will meet your needs for heavy travel, business meetings, or frequent entertaining.
Amenities typical of luxury buildings include swimming pools, dog runs, indoor valet parking, and business and conference centers. Following the recent trend of condominium-hotel units being sold in the upper market, amenities that were traditionally found only in luxury hotels are now appearing in residential buildings-housekeeping services, spa centers, meal services and catering (often by well-known caterers). Taking cues from posh New York hotels, some high-end buildings in Chicago are now offering billiard rooms, wine storage facilities-even spa services for pets.
One of the first questions your Realtor should ask is how many homes you prefer per floor. Some buyers want only one or two. Ceiling heights are also important; new-construction units should have at least nine-foot ceilings, and preferably ten or eleven.
The Finer Points of Finishes
Even at the upper reaches of the market, some developers try to save money by installing the same finishes in every unit. You have to be aware that developers will sometimes try to impose that luxury feeling without allowing you to customize your finishes.
I always accompany my clients when they make finish selections rather than leave them to work solely with the developer selections staff. Particularly on the upper end of the market, your agent should have the background to make suggestions about finishes, even when you're working with an interior designer. An astute Realtor understands the impact of finish selections on resale value.
Recent trends in high-end finishes include darker stains in hardwood flooring; soaking tubs with separate shower enclosures, and natural stone-marble, slate or limestone-in kitchens and baths.
As the architect Louis Sullivan famously said, "Form follows function," and his insight should also guide your finish selections. For example, white-marble countertops look great, but they stain from use. Dark countertops may be a better choice for a well used kitchen. The best finishes are both aesthetically pleasing and practical.
The cachet of luxury brands-and their role in a home's resale value-also applies in the kitchen and bath. Look for name brands like Sub-Zero refrigerators, Miele dishwashers, Waterworks detail, and Wolf or Viking cook tops and ovens. Premium cabinetry names include Poliform, Christopher Peacock, Poggenpohl, and Snaidero.
Be Savvy with Contracts
In the sales contract, many developers leave themselves an opening to change or substitute finish selections. You need to clarify what these substituted selections will be and the cost of any upgrades. The contract should state that your finishes will be equal in value, or the same as, those shown in the model.
Particularly with new construction, it's important to scrutinize both the contract and the property report for transaction subtleties. There might be restrictions on selling the first year, or limits on the number of units that may be rented in the building. Find a real estate attorney who knows how to discern the details of the new construction contract and property report.
Your Realtor Works for You
With prices for high-end luxury properties in Chicago homes for sale approaching ,000 to ,200 per square foot, you need a real estate agent who understands your lifestyle and will represent you by asking the developer's realtor the hard-nosed questions.

Top Of the Line Cleaner Miele Solaris Vacuum Units Outperform
As a top of the line vacuum cleaner Miele Solaris vacuum units are perceived to be the pinnacle of house cleaning tools. With an unexpectedly quiet operation and durability of the units they were considered the Kirby vacuum cleaner of Europe, except for selling methods.
While Kirby stuck to selling by way of in-home demonstration only, Miele took its units to the dealers and allowed people to learn of their quality, durability and performance, knowing that once they tried them, they would be reluctant to give them up.
With a price range of 0 and up, people who buy a Miele vacuum cleaner expect it to be exceptional and with no exceptions noted on reviews, it has succeeded. While the unit's cost as well as the cost of filters may be high, the return on the investment is exceptional. Unsolicited reviews claim it is simple to use and requires very few repairs even after 20 years of residential use. Many found out about their quality while in Europe and then sought out licensed dealers in the United States to continue owning a top of the line appliance.
The power brush attachment has a separate motor to power pickup at the end of the hose and it is easily changeable for normal, upright vacuum use. Along with the power head, the Miele name for quality is unsurpassed in many manufacturing circles.
To learn about this vacuum cleaner line, you will have to visit an authorized Miele retailer or someone you know who has one, but in either case the recommendation from reviews of users will most likely be positive.

Common Washing Machine Faults
When you buy a washing machine you want to know that it is going to last a long time. You don't want to spend hundreds on a new one every two or three years so the life time of a machine is a big factor when choosing. Most washing machine lifespans are around 4-8 years according to those who make them - but this varies largely on how you maintain yours.
One of the most common faults of a washing machine occurs when the user repeatedly overloads it. This causes much more wearing of the machine than it should have in normal use and hence decreases the life span considerably - which is obviously not what you want!
Another common fault is leaking of the machine. With the amount of water pumped through a washing machine in its lifetime being huge, it is not surprise that they sometimes spring a leak! Most leaks can be fixed fairly quickly by a professional but if left unattended then they can cause more serious problems.
Like any other household object that gets a lot of use the washing machine needs to be properly looked after if it is going to last a long time without breaking down or becoming completely unusable. Things like overloading and leaks you can look out for, but there are other more complicated reasons a machine can break that aren't so easy to spot or fix, so make sure you buy from a reputable brand in the first place that has a long history of providing good quality washing machines.

Miele Washing Machine - When Only the Best Washing Machine Will Do
If it's time for a new washing machine and you want to spoil yourself, buy the very best and get a Miele washing machine. Miele is manufactured in Germany and is a prime example of the traditional quality that Germany has become known for over the years. Essentially Miele has been the standard bearer throughout Europe for a century. Their machines are what all other brands have attempted to emulate. And now, only recently, has this brand become readily available in the United States as well.
The company, to this day, follows their creed of "Immer Besser," which translates to "Forever Better." When people are asked about the Miele brand, their response, almost without variance, revolves around quality. Though the price tag can be rather steep, it's hard to find someone who regrets having bought one. Their washers, like all their other household machinery, carry their guarantee, which they have always stood behind.
Their unique design makes for a host of features that leave the competition in the dust. For an exacting control of water usage, Miele has the perfect solution in all of their washers. And, you won't find any other machines that allow you to clean your clothes with such precision as these washers do. The amazing selection of "Master Care" washer settings allows you to vary all of the typical settings exactly to your liking. Wash, rinse and spin cycles, and water temperature control are all managed with the touch of a finger. Based on the type and amount of clothing you are washing, any setting you choose can be easily programmed into your Miele washing machine.
The number and variety of features that these machines have is truly astounding. Given the detailed mechanism, the malfunctions are few and far between. Your child and your machine are protected by a feature that keeps these washing machines tightly closed while they are operating. Like a fine auto, the Miele machines have an internal program that will automatically diagnose (and communicate to you) any problems that arise. You can program your machine to start its cycle while you are away at work too. This is also an easy one to use function. The list of features, at times, seems to have no end.
Regardless of the model of Miele washing machine you choose, you won't be disappointed. They are all equipped with a personal computer that is constantly being updated with all the new features that become available to the consumer. Miele is always working on ways to make their machines more efficient and the present owners of any one of these machines continuously reap the benefits.
Some people may initially balk at the prices - some machine can cost in excess of ,000 - in the end, they are never disappointed in their performance. Furthermore, the reported functional life of Miele washers often exceeds 20 years. Once you start to add together the features, performance and longevity, the price, when factored over time, is far more reasonable. Why make washing your clothes more of a chore than it needs to be? Eliminate as many of the bothersome elements of the routine as you possibly can.
For the in-home laundry room of the big family, you might consider the Miele 4840. This model is a front loader and is highlighted by a large load capacity. Eliminate multiple, time-consuming loads and get the same reliability from all the other machines. Of course there are numerous other choices - shop around and find one that best fits your washing needs and design taste.
So if you want the absolute best, there is no other choice than Miele. Stop fooling around with machine after machine and get yourself a Miele washing machine for your next purchase.
